Email SupportTap the red heartbeat button on the Home screen to open the Add Referral sheet. You can either take a photo of your referral document or enter the details manually.
If you take a photo, ReferralTracker will automatically extract information such as the test name, referral type, and any date information from the document. Review and confirm the details, then tap Save.
ReferralTracker supports five categories: Blood Tests, Imaging & Radiology, Pathology, Specialist Consultations, and Other. When you add a referral, you can select the appropriate category or let the OCR suggest one based on the document content.
ReferralTracker uses Apple's built-in Vision framework to read your referral documents. All text recognition happens entirely on your iPhone — no image or text is ever sent to any server. Recognition works best with clearly printed documents in good lighting.
Open any referral from your list and tap the calendar button or the "Add to Calendar" option. You'll be prompted to grant calendar access if you haven't already. The appointment will be added to your default Apple Calendar and will appear in the app's Calendar tab.
Yes. Tap on any referral in your list to open the detail view, then tap the Edit button (pencil icon) in the top right corner. You can update any field, including the referral type, status, notes, and appointment date.
Open the referral detail view and use the quick-status buttons at the top of the screen to switch between Pending, Booked, Completed, and Cancelled. The status is reflected instantly in your Home screen list and stat cards.
All referral data is stored locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. No data is ever sent to external servers.
Your data is included in your iPhone's regular iCloud or iTunes/Finder backups (if you have backup enabled), so it will be restored if you set up a new iPhone from a backup. Backups are managed entirely by Apple and are protected by your iPhone's encryption.
No. ReferralTracker works entirely offline. All features — including OCR, calendar sync, and data storage — function without an internet connection.
No. ReferralTracker is a personal organisation tool designed to help you keep track of referrals you have already received from your doctor. It does not provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Always follow the guidance of your healthcare provider.
Unfortunately, deleted referrals cannot be recovered from within the app. If you have an iPhone backup (via iCloud or your computer), restoring from a backup prior to the deletion would recover the data — however, this will also restore your entire iPhone to that point in time.
OCR accuracy depends on lighting and document quality. For best results: photograph in good, even light; hold your phone parallel to the document; and ensure the full document is within the frame.
All extracted fields are fully editable before saving — simply correct any errors in the review screen before tapping Save.
